I started BAREfit about a year ago. I noticed the gym in the neighborhood several times, but I was too intimidated to try it. I felt like was in the worst shape of my life and there is no way I could do the workouts. Several months later, I noticed a post on Facebook for a 21-day trial for all fitness levels and decided to go for it. I was at a point where I had to do something.
Absolutely terrified to go to the first class, when I got there I realized all of my preconceptions were completely wrong. The coaches demonstrate various levels of difficulty on the exercises so you are able to tailor the workout to what is right for you. All of the members are incredibly nice, supportive and encourage each other. After that first class, I immediately started feeling better physically and mentally.
I love the fact this is not your typical gym environment –
· Every workout is creative and unique
· Exercises imitate everyday natural movements
· There is a wide variety of age ranges and skill level
· Equipment is recycled/upcycled
· A non-profit is supported each month
· Workouts are never boring – they are fun!
Since I have joined BAREfit, I have gotten stronger, more confident, lost weight, gained mental clarity, improved mobility, fewer aches and pains, more energy, and it has eased my anxiety. I have accomplished things I never thought I would be able to do. Susie is an awesome coach and knows when to push me, not to mention she curates great music for our classes!
Taking care of your health and body is an ongoing journey and this has been the perfect place for me. Joining was one of the best decisions I have made, my only regret is I didn’t start sooner.
